Oh, hi everybody, my name is Sandy Beach, I'm an alcoholic, and thank me, thank you for inviting me up to your intergroup function, I just love intergroups. Whenever I think of AA service and action, it's an intergroup, because that's where the phone calls come in, that's where people get hooked up with somebody to help them, that's where the literature is, that's where the meeting schedule is, that's where the literature is, I mean it's the lifeline of the groups that it serves, and so it's very important to make sure they have plenty of operating funds, because they do probably the most important service job in AA that I can think of, except maybe for the coffee makers, so, I put coffee makers above trustees, anyway, I'm glad Dorsey invited me out here, I always like sharing about Alcoholics Anonymous and sobriety, it's been my whole life, AA is just about everything that I do and think about, and I know November is gratitude month, but you know, I think we're grateful all year, it's a condition that sets in once your life has been transformed, and you're so grateful to not be in that hell hole where we were for so many years, it's just so wonderful to be out of there, and then to have the privilege to watch other people come out of their prison and get set free by the power of this program, it's just, it's the rarest sight, I mean just think how unusual it is to see someone transformed from the terrible place they've been all these years into this wonderful miracle that happens in AA, I would say Alcoholics Anonymous probably has more spiritual awakenings than any other organization on the planet, more than churches, more than anywhere, they all happen in here, you know why? Because we got more desperate people than anybody else does, and desperation is the ticket in to a spiritual awakening, so it's no wonder that we cornered the market on these awakenings, our sample is rather restricted, just desperate people. I came into AA in December of 1964, up in Washington DC, and my first meeting was at the Manassas Virginia group, and I just met a gentleman from that group who knew a lot of the old timers that were there when I came in, and that's quite a coincidence to come…
