Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 8, 2026
Welcome to Recovery Speakers (recoveryspeakers.org). We are committed to preserving the earliest recorded voices of recovery while fully respecting and safeguarding the privacy of our visitors, contributors, and members. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Donations & Financial Contributions
All financial contributions and donations are processed securely through our trusted third-party payment processor, Stripe. Recovery Speakers does not store, process, or have access to your credit card or financial account numbers. All transaction details are encrypted and handled in compliance with Stripe’s security standards.
2. Premium Memberships
When you purchase a Premium Membership, we collect basic registration details (such as your name and email address) to manage your account access and billing cycle. This information is kept strictly confidential and is used solely to provide your membership benefits.
3. Email Newsletter & Daily Speaker Signup
If you choose to sign up for our daily speaker emails, your name and email address are securely synchronized with MailChimp, our email marketing service. You can unsubscribe from these daily emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of every email.
4. Website Cookies & Analytics
We use basic, anonymous cookies and analytical tools to understand how visitors interact with our platform (e.g., page views, session durations). This data is completely aggregated, contains no personally identifiable information, and is used solely to optimize site performance and responsiveness.
5. AI-Powered “Ask the Archive” Searches
Our proprietary “Ask the Archive” AI research assistant allows you to search, query, and explore historical recovery transcripts. To protect your privacy, all search queries submitted to “Ask the Archive” are processed anonymously. We do not link search queries or AI interactions back to your personal user account or email address.
6. Contributed & Submitted Materials
When you submit audio recordings, photographs, or documents to the Recovery Speakers Community Collection, you confirm that you have the right to contribute these materials for digital preservation. If you choose to remain anonymous during submission, we will strictly protect your identity in compliance with the spiritual foundation of the Eleventh Tradition (anonymity at the level of press, radio, and films).
7. Privacy & Takedown Inquiries
We hold historical accuracy and copyright compliance in the highest regard. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, wish to request the removal of a contributed file, or have copyright/takedown questions, please contact us immediately at archives@recoveryspeakers.org. Our curation team will respond promptly to address your request.
