Personal Conduct Matters
“Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A unity”
No member of Alcoholics Anonymous ought to experience any form of harassment, bullying or aggressive behavior. No AA member has the right to judge, shame or abuse any A.A. regardless of their age, sexuality, disability, mental health challenges, color, gender, religious beliefs, reputation and/or status. This includes at ALL types of AA meetings or contact either in person, by telephone or by modem.
While Alcoholics Anonymous in the main is a safe place for us all to recover, there could be occasions where the personal conduct of a few irresponsible and inconsiderate “members” may affect the primary purpose of individual members or AA groups. At this group, we operate a robust Personal Conduct Matters policy and we shall take the appropriate action should any AA member experience negative behavior, which affect the Spirit of what we do or could bring Alcoholics Anonymous into controversy or disrepute.
We have made this a safe and secure place for ALL members of Alcoholics Anonymous whether you agree with AA’s Program of Recovery or not. This is YOUR AA meeting! We are glad to look out for all our AA Friends, especially our AA friends with Special Needs as well as our female AA members.
Personal Conduct Matters Statement We value all our visitors and we have a special guideline for women, especially the lone female coming to us for her recovery. We are here for you. We, as an AA Group, will make every effort to keep this AA meeting a positive and healthy experience for you. This group has PCM monitors in place to guide and safeguard you at this meeting. This also includes being the victim of gossip or hearsay. Should ANY person – especially our female visitors – have any concern about any unwelcome attitude or behavior, please speak to Rosemary, Annie or Derek B. onsite. Women have every right to be treated with real respect and ought to be encouraged to get recovery within our male-centered Fellowship. We carry a zero policy against any harassment, aggression or abuse. We have made this a safe and sober place for real alcoholics to recover.
