No need to worry about it. No need to worry. I’ve shouted to hell for a long time, folks. So don’t you worry about it. I’d like to say good morning to each and every one. My name is Liz Bailey, and my anonymity has been shot a long time. Mr. Bailey didn’t like me using it, but he wasn’t in the program. And it’s never hurt me in all these years to break my anonymity, but I don’t suggest that you do it if you don’t care to do it, and I will never tell anybody who’s in this fellowship and who’s not. That’s something I never do and never will do. But my name is Liz Bailey. I’m an alcoholic, and through the grace of God, 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and sponsorship, I haven’t found it necessary.. Now, you young people listen to me. Listen to me. Hasn’t been necessary to pick up a drink since July the 11th, 1952. I’m just telling you how powerful Alcoholics Anonymous is, and I just said it to two people in the back.

Once you have ever crossed a AA doorsill, you’ll never drink and drug in peace again. Mm-mm. Not one of you have come back in my 53 years and told me that it’s so, ooh, great out there. I believe you. Don’t go out there and try it. Don’t try it. Stay in here and go through the pain to gain. Fight the fight for the victory, ’cause there is victory. Believe me. I wanna take this opportunity to congratulate Lou and, and Miriam on their anniversary today, and may you, dear God, have many, many more. I wanna thank Lou, uh, Louie and the conference, the committee. You all have done the most fantastic job. Whoa. Don’t turn your back on it. Keep it going, ’cause I’m gonna look forward to being here next year. I’ll pay my own damn car fare next year. I will pay my own car fare next year. I will be here with the grace of God. Only His grace will bring me, too. Okay? But it has been.. The speakers, everybody, has been so wonderful.

I wanna thank my doll who came down with me this year, uh, Stephanie. Stephanie had been traveling around with me since I had the stroke and went into a coma, and I’m only to prove to you that there’s a God, baby. Amen. See, I put on some jazz one day, and I jazzed that stroke right away. Whoa. I sure did. I ain’t had no stroke, y’all. See, no, I ain’t got no cane, nothing. I’m just, whoa. Yeah. A- and if He can do it for me, He can do it for you. No secret. No secret. Just keep the faith of a mustard seed, just a little mustard seed. You don’t have to have a whole lot. And know that you can pass anything, ’cause I’ve been through the mill in these 53 years. Whoa, Lord, have mercy. I’d take you a week to tell you. A whole week. I can’t do it in an hour, but I’ll do the best that I can. But I tell you, it’s one of the fantastic, powerful fellowships in the world. You’ll never find another one like it. I don’t care where you go.
