Whoo, you light up my life. Whoo. Oh, yeah. You gave me the hope when I didn’t know there was any hope for me. I thank you. I thank you all. I’d like to say good evening to each and every one. My name is Liz Bailey. My anonymity’s been shot to hell for a long time. I stand before you this beautiful evening a very, very grateful alcoholic. Whoo. Hi, everyone. Good. Hi, brother Love. Let me tell you.. Oh, yeah, I got it in, okay? Whoo. Uh, there are so many of you here tonight that have been in my life in the past years. I personally wanna thank you. I had to control myself a little while ago from getting too emotional. I still get very emotional with love for you, and your love for me has saved me many, many days and times. I wanna thank the committee. I wanna thank Lee and Ken and all for the dinner last night, for.. I haven’t been doing anything but eating since I got here. I..

For the breakfast and the grits this morning, for the chicken dumplings and stuff tonight, you’ll probably have to roll me on the plane tomorrow. I had the worst flight in my life coming into Orlando. The plane dumped into pockets and threw us out of our seats and everything. Oh. And you know, I didn’t think I was gonna make it, and I don’t think we thought we were gonna make it. But you see, if you’re looking at me tonight, God has brought me to Orlando for a reason. And we’re gonna see when He speaks through me to you tonight what that reason is all about. Yeah. I have never planned a speech in my life. I don’t ever plan to plan one. It’s a language of the heart, and it comes from my heart. Thank you guys for the dinner tonight, and thank you all for coming out. For the hours that you have driven here, it’s so beautiful. I wish you could see this picture that I’m seeing here tonight. I’ll take you home in my mind and heart.

I haven’t gone out and gotten anybody a new story, ’cause the one I came here with was a Lulu for me. For me. And I promised you I’m not going back out there and get a new one because it’s waiting for me out there. You know it. With 47 years of sobriety, Satan don’t like Liz. Oh, he tries. Oh, he uses everything against me. He uses everything to test me. And I spoke at a detox Wednesday, and a young man raised his hand and he says, “How many tests have you taken?” Ooh, in 47 years, I have taken some tests, but my God taught me that if I take the pass the test and keep passing the test, look at the good He’s got for me. Yeah. Look at it. Look at it. Just look at it. And you can look over your life and see every hurdle that you’ve had to jump. Bob, you’re beautiful. I’m so sorry I can’t package you up and take you home. Whoo. I, I would need Pampers and Depends and all that kind of stuff if I took you home. This man has had me laughing for two days.
