============================================================
Hi, Bill. Back again. I think I've squeezed about all I can on this track on this side, so if you'll turn over now on the same track one, I'll start off with Eve M. from GSO on the Twelve Concepts. Listen to this carefully. She, I guess, went over it with the boss himself, but certainly it's the clearest, simplest explanation of the concepts that I've heard to date. She certainly did a beautiful job.
We're into another night now. This is Monday night, and I don't know what happened, but I'm home. Holly's doodling around upstairs transcribing some of the conference tapes, and she's got to cut a stencil for our group bulletin, and we got a group started now that meets at our meeting place. I don't know whether I ever told you about it or not. The church that we meet in gave us a room. We have it seven nights a week if we want it, and I felt that there was quite a lack of knowledge of the traditions as applied to the group.
There are plenty that kind of know them by the book, but that's about the extent of it. Practical application doesn't seem to work, so we've gotten a group started open to all the groups in Brooklyn. It isn't a membership group. It's just that the meeting is there every Wednesday night for anyone who cares to come and put a group problem before the people there, or if there aren't any problems presented, we have a kind of a roundtable discussion of one tradition each week, and so far it's been working beautifully.
The meetings have been terrific, so I've got Holly cutting a stencil for the bulletin for that for this month, too, so she'll be a busy girl out of mischief tonight anyway, and I'm going to try to get as much done as I can on this tape. I won't get much done, though, if I stand here and talk to you, but as I said, I think earlier, Holly and I think of you and Arbutus very often. I'm a lousy writer. I just don't write anyone, and I guess Holly's so damn busy over there that by the time she gets through with the office and by the time she gets through with the work she lugs home, she's had it.
You know, every once in a while Ann Landers or one of the columnists dump an article about Al-Anon, and right away they're hit with two or three thousand letters up there, and they just don't have the staff to handle them, so a lot of it has to be done at home. Thank God, though, things are growing, things are picking up, and maybe someday they'll be in a position that our office is, but until then, the gals there just have to carry the load. I know Arbutus knows what I'm talking about, but anyhow, I'm going to shut up now. There isn't that much tape left on this side to get excited about.
As I said, I'm going to turn over, and the first thing I'll have on track one on the other side, on side two, will be Eve M. on the concepts. What follows after that will be according to what I dig up that I think will be suitable for you. I'll have Yev G. and Dr. Milton Maxwell, and I think I've got Kellerman on for you already, but I'll check my list. I've got it here. Okay, so long for now.
I just played that stretch back, and the noise on there, I didn't realize it before, but it's pretty hot and sticky here tonight for June night, and I have the fan on, so that's the noise that's been picked up. Oh, incidentally, with the little bit of tape that's left, I guess you and Arbutus know that Carol finally got her heart's desire. She's a stewardess for American Airlines. She even picked the right airline, AA, and she's been flying all over hell and creation since last July. She's with them almost a year and loves it, and she gets down in your part of the country once in a while.
They fly into Houston. She gets that trip every once in a while. I don't know really off the top of my head right now how close she gets to you, but maybe one of her trips down there, she can give you a call anyway and say hello. All right, now this is positively the last aside before I turn the tape. Bye-bye.
