I am going to try to squeeze another talk in here, getting good use of this tape, Bill. This is a recording of Rod LaRock of Hollywood, California, the old movie star. He has been in AA quite a few years. No doubt you have one of his talks on a tape. This recording was made at Redding, California, October 3, 1959, by Bill Mitchell of Modesta, California. I was told just to wait for it, so… There it goes. Going, going, going. Uh… On the way over this evening… Like the Dodgers, they never give up, you know. I was told by my friend Basil that, Rod, you can have an hour. Well, I can't tell you how enthusiastic I am about Alcoholics Anonymous. On the other hand, I always wonder if we need a full hour. Brevity being the soul of wit. I'm reminded of the schoolteacher who was tired of her class of young monsters and decided by some means…
